Jörg Heiner

About me:

Born in 1973 in Olpe, Sauerland, where I still live.
At 12 I began running medium and long distances. Before that I had tried out all kinds of sports. I quickly found out that I had a running talent. When 16 I already did the 10 km in 32:14 min. I’m really sorry that after my German half marathon vice championship in 1995 (1:06:20 hrs) I gave up running. One to two packages of cigarettes per day and this or that beer were too much. I had to become 37 to begin a purposeful training again, getting many national titles and top places in my then age groups. I still start for my wonderful home club SG Werden.

Highlight:

German junior half marathon vice champion, German 100 km vice champion (6:59 hrs) in 1913, 4th place in the half marathon Masters EM in 2018, 142, 8 km in the 2019 Deventer 12 hrs run.

Why I am a 7CRun Ambassador:

It’s a fantastic idea to set a signal in times when competition running is banned and run for both one’s own good and for that of others. It’s an honor for me to be part of that project.
