Nikki Johnstone

About me:

I was born 1984 in the capital of the Highlands of Scotland, Inverness, and spent my childhood playing competitive Football to a high level. After University at teacher training college in Liverpool, I moved to Germany in August 2006. I ran my first marathon in Cologne in October 2008, as a 24 year old, finishing in 3:21 hrs. In 2012 I decided to give up Football and take up running more seriously. Competitions, or “race-days” always really excited me, and they became an important part of my life, even today they are my biggest passion in running.

Highlights:

Over the following years I could progressively improve my best Marathon time to 2:21 hrs, one hour faster than my first Marathon eleven years earlier. Due to my improvement, I am honoured to now be a part of the Scottish Athletics Marathon Project for the Commonwealth Games 2022 and I have also been selected for the Scotland 100K Team for the 2020 British 100K Championships, to be held in September 2020 in England. Not only road races, but also ultra- and ultra-trail races fascinate and excite me.

Why I am a 7CRun Ambassador:

It is a great honour to be selected as a 7CR Ambassador and I am convinced that through this we will play an important role in positively changing and impacting the world, and all of humanity.
